An off-campus student who is a candidate for an electrical engineering degree must take at least halfthe course work from full-time University of Florida faculty members. Many graduate-level ECE courses have implicitundergraduate course prerequisites. Students are expected to have mastered the undergraduateskills necessary to provide appropriate foundation for graduate courses they attempt. All articulation requirements must be satisfied within the first 12 months of beginning graduatestudies. Thesis studentsmust be registered for three credit hours of thesis EEL in the term of graduation Fall andSpring, and two credits in summer.
The course requirements include a minimum of 18 hours ofElectrical and Computer Engineering courses, excluding EEL , , , , , This course requirement can only be fulfilled by completing ECE course work at the University ofFlorida. At least three of these nine depth credits must be at the level. Students can count a maximum of 3 credits of EGN toward theirdegree program. The number of credits in EEL and is limited to five credit hours each and none of these credits can be counted toward degreerequirements. The supervisory committee should be selected as soon as possible but no later than the end of thesecond semester. After the committee has been determined, the student should get a SupervisoryCommittee Form from the ECE Student Services Office Larsen and have the professors signthe form indicating their willingness to serve on the committee. The Graduate School may denydegrees to any persons who have failed to comply with this regulation at the proper time.

The ECEdepartment chair serves as the default non-thesis committee member for all non-thesis students andis automatically appointed for all non-thesis students. Students must take the MS non-thesis final exam during the semester thatthey are registered for the appropriate level ECE course.
